About the Course
The brain exhibits rhythmic activity across multiple spatial and temporal scales, from the oscillations of individual neurons to coordinated activity across neural populations. Understanding these rhythms requires a dynamical systems perspective. This micro-course introduces the mathematical and computational foundations of neural oscillators and their application to modeling brain dynamics.
What You'll Learn
Dynamical Systems Foundation
Build intuition for nonlinear dynamics and phase-plane analysis applied to neural systems.
Neural Population Models
Scale from single neuron oscillators to ensemble models that mimic real brain rhythms.
Computational Modelling
Implement oscillatory neuron models and analyse emergent behaviours mathematically.
